✦ About

The person behind the product.

Here is something I have learned about myself: I cannot watch someone struggle with something I know how to fix and stay quiet about it. I have been like this since my undergrad days, gathering classmates to re-explain what the lecturer had spent an hour making confusing. I could not help it then and I still cannot now.

That instinct is what drove me to redesign onboarding flows, build workforce dashboards, migrate HR platforms, and diagnose retention problems at their root. And it is what is driving me to build Buddi and Ije, because I kept seeing problems that deserved better solutions than the ones that existed. Product management is where feeling someone's pain and building something that fixes it finally happen in the same role.

I have a BSc in International Law and Diplomacy and an MBA from Thompson Rivers University. I hold the SHRM-CP, the CPHR Candidate designation, and the CBAP certification.

If any of this sounds like someone you want in the room, I hope you reach out.

✦ The Story

I have always moved toward people's pain.

After Covid, when the layoffs started, I was the one sitting across from people whose whole lives I could see in a file. I knew all of it and I still had to do what needed to be done. What I could not stop thinking about afterward were the ones who stayed, picking up everyone's work inside systems already on their last leg. That was the moment I started asking a different question entirely.

I came to Canada with years of experience and quiet confidence. The Canadian job market was not particularly interested. My first role here was as a Shelter Support Worker, and I sat with people carrying more than most ever will, listening the way I have always listened. The job title was new; everything else was completely familiar.

“I trust my vision and doubt my fears.”

I have been gathering people toward solutions for as long as I can remember. When people asked me why I wanted to study medicine, my answer was always the same: I just want them to know I can feel their pain. At some point I understood that feeling someone's pain was only half of the work. The other half was building something that made the pain smaller. That is what brought me to product management.

The first time Buddi worked the way I had imagined, I did not celebrate. I sat very still and thought about what my first years in Canada would have looked like if I had this then. Buddi is for the person I was then, standing in front of a system that was not designed with them in mind.

On Resilience

Starting over has never frightened me. It just gives me a cleaner angle on the problem.

On Creativity

Status quo is a polite name for stopped. I have never been comfortable with stopped.

On Opportunity

I take the chance. Every time. Because I have never once regretted the things I tried, only the things I did not.

Here is what that journey looked like in practice.

✦ Journey

Where I have made my mark.

HR Generalist

Led a 10-month HRIS migration for 150 staff: scoped requirements, managed implementation, and delivered a 40% reduction in processing time. Diagnosed a retention problem and built the onboarding system that fixed it: 90-day retention improved by 45%, probation completion reached 95%. Managed 35 to 45 recruitment cycles annually across distributed sites.

“I have never left a role looking the same as when I arrived. Scope expands because problems do not stay inside job descriptions.”

And here is what I decided to build.

✦ What I Build

Two products. Both grown from real experience.

The problems I am solving are not hypothetical. They happened to me.

Buddi

Fintech · Canadian-first · In Development

The financial companion Canada never built for its newcomers.

The Problem

Every personal finance app available in Canada was built for someone who already understands the system. A newcomer staring at their first T4 slip or trying to figure out what CPP deductions mean for their future has nowhere to turn that actually speaks their language.

Who It Is For

Newcomers in their first 1 to 3 years in Canada. Young adults aged 18 to 25 stepping into financial independence and looking for something warmer than a spreadsheet.

The Insight

Buddi does not track what you spent last month. It helps you decide where your money goes before it arrives. The Buddi Score gives users something a credit score never could: a number that feels like encouragement, not a verdict.

Ije

Travel Tech · Trip OS · In Development

A trip is never just logistics. No app has ever truly understood that.

The Problem

Planning a trip means managing at least five apps that do not speak to each other. The group chat becomes the itinerary. The budget lives in someone's notes app. When you come home, there is nothing left of the journey except photographs that do not tell the whole story.

Who It Is For

The traveller who has felt this chaos on every trip and keeps hoping the next app will finally fix it. And the person in every group who ends up organising everything while everyone else just shows up.

The Insight

Ije is the Igbo word for journey. Where I come from, a journey has never been only about where you are going. It has always been about who you are going with and what you bring back. The product is built around that belief.

✦ What I Am Learning

Practising product management on live products.

Real decisions. Real stakes.

Every call I make on Buddi and Ije is live. No rubric, no safety net, no professor to correct me. I am learning what it costs to hold a product direction when the data has not caught up to the conviction yet.

User research without a script.

I am in direct conversations with newcomers in Canada about their financial lives, listening for the problem underneath the problem. This is where Buddi's most important decisions come from.

Metrics that tell the truth.

I am learning to separate the numbers that actually indicate product health from the ones that just feel good to report. Day 7 retention. Activation rate. The difference matters.

✦ What I Bring

Two disciplines. One perspective.

Product Management

User research, PRD writing, feature prioritisation, MoSCoW framework, OKRs and metrics, roadmapping, stakeholder management, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategy.

Tools and Building

Lovable, Figma, Notion, Excel and Google Sheets, Power BI, ATS systems, Agile and Scrum, and Tableau.

Credentials

BSc International Law and Diplomacy, Babcock University. MBA, Thompson Rivers University. SHRM-CP, CPHR Candidate, CBAP, and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration UK.
